Photoshop Work

This is a picture of the Avon Cinema on Thayer Street in Providence, RI.  This picture was used in my Thayer Street Tri-Fold Brochure since my topic was entertainment.  Before I could insert this picture into my brochure, I had to use photoshop to change the picture from what it looked like originally.  At first, the picture was much wider and had people and other businesses in it.  It also looked boring because the edges were very soft and a little blurry.  So, I used photoshop to change those problems.  First, I cropped both sides of the picture plus a little off the top, so that the only thing in the picture was the Avon Cinema, with no additional buildings or people.  After that, I used a filter gallery option called "poster edges".  That filter gallery option made the edges in the picture look bold and sharp, which solved the problem with the soft and blurry edges.  By cropping the sides of the picture, it makes the Avon Cinema the center of focus, and by using a filter gallery, it emphasizes the building.  The finished product was used in my Thayer Street Tri-Fold Brochure.
